Kaikoura is rich with history and home to exciting adventure activities, marine wildlife, breathtaking scenery, fresh local food, stunning hikes, and mountain biking tracks.

A Room With a View is right on the edge of the Kaikoura Peninsula, high above the township, with many walking tracks right outside your front door. Summer-bare or plastered with winter’s snowy coat, Mount Fyffe and the Seaward Kaikoura Range dominate the Kaikoura skyline. They provide recreation opportunities ranging from a family stroll to a serious backcountry hike.

We are adjoining a Maori Pa, a large piece of land that once was the Ngā Niho pā on the Kaikōura Peninsula and is thought to have been built during the 1820s when the people of Ngāti Toa, waged war against Ngāi Tahu. From the pā, enemy canoes could be seen approaching along the coast.
